I want to share with you a tool which you can use while learning vocabularies. Since I decided to be an English teacher, I use this application for to improve my vocabulary skill in a funnier way. Of course, there are a lot of way for learning new vocabularies like preparing vocab cards, writing in a notebook, or sticking post-it papers on your wall. Everybody can develop a method according to their needs and learning styles. I tried a lot of method, but it was so hard for me to learn new vocabs. After a while thanks to my teacher I meet with QUIZLET and I started to use this application.
Quizlet is an application which you can use for learning vocabulary. And there is also web site version of the Quizlet. It can be used in any level also for any language.
HOW WE CAN USE QUIZLET?
You can create study sets according to your need then you can study these sets. Also, you can use the other sets which are created by other users. Quizlet can be used both individually and with your class. After you created a set, you can study on your set. There are 7 options for choose your training style.
Moreover, you can add images and recordings to your sets.
WHERE WE CAN USE QUIZLET?
To improve our vocabulary skills, we can use Quizlet. Improving our vocabulary skills is important to be good at English because if we improve our vocabulary knowledge, we it helps us to be good at reading, speaking, listening also writing. Everybody can use this application also it can be used for any language. We can use this tool both in-class and after the class. In class, Quizlet provides to play live games, when teacher started the game, students can join with QR code or password which provided by teacher. This can help lessons to be interactive.
LIMITATIONS
1. While using application we can easily get distracted. Also, if you use the free version of Quizlet, you can see ads so you can get distracted easily.
2. You can add pictures to your sets, but if you want to add your own images to your study set you need to get Quizlet Plus. In free version, you can only add the images which are Quizlet suggest you.
TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS
1. Save sets for offline studying
If you want to study offline, from your profile you can download 8 sets which your most recently studied.
2. Visibility
You can change your sets visibility settings. There are 3 options: everyone, people with a password, just me. If you want to share your set with your students or friends, you can add password to your set then, you can share with them.
3. Web site
You can use web site of Quizlet and I think creating a study set on the web site is more comfortable than application.
